As a business owner, you’ve just wrapped up a huge project with a client. You’ve ironed out all the details and agreed on the terms, and now you’re just waiting on that signature to seal the deal. You both work remotely, so printing, signing, scanning, and emailing the document just isn’t an option.
You need a secure, fast, and reliable way to seal the deal—and you need it now. Sound familiar?
What if you could make that last step as easy as clicking a button? I’m talking legally binding digital signature in just seconds, from your Formplus account. Well, we’re excited to introduce our latest feature—E-Sign!
Now, with just a click, you can collect legally binding electronic signatures directly from your forms, without the trouble of physical paperwork.
What Is E-Sign, and What Does It Solve?
An electronic signature (e-signature) is a digital version of a handwritten signature, used to indicate a person’s intent to agree to the content of a document. It holds the same legal standing as a traditional signature, provided it meets legal criteria.
Key Features:
- Legally Valid: E-signatures are legally recognized in many regions, including the U.S. under the E-Sign Act and in the EU under eIDAS regulations, allowing them to replace handwritten signatures for most transactions.
- Types of E-Signatures:
- Simple Electronic Signatures (SES): Basic forms like typed names or scanned images of signatures.
- Advanced Electronic Signatures (AES): Offer added security by verifying the signer’s identity and linking the signature to the document.
- Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES): Meet higher standards for security and require specific tools for creation.
Why You Need E-Sign
Dealing with printed, signed, and scanned documents can be stressful, with all the back-and-forth and endless paper trails. The traditional signing process eats up time, resources, and patience.
With ESign, you can:
- Get signatures instantly: No more chasing clients or waiting for scanned copies.
- Store securely: Signed forms are saved in the cloud and are always accessible.
- Stay compliant: E-Sign meets the legal Act standards, so your documents are legally valid.
- Audit trail: Every signature comes with an audit trail—timestamp, IP address, and more—for full transparency.
E-Sign eliminates the need for paper and speeds up your data collection process—making your workflow seamless, secure, and compliant.
Who Needs E-Sign?
E-Sign is perfect for businesses and professionals who need or rely on collecting signatures for documents but want to do so more efficiently. It’s designed for:
- Freelancers & Consultants: Who need quick, legal signatures on contracts and agreements.
- Small Business Owners: Who want to close deals faster and securely with clients or partners.
- Agencies: That need waivers, consent forms, or contracts signed remotely.
- HR Departments: For signing employment contracts and other official documents.
- Legal Firms: Handling agreements or client intake forms.
If your work requires collecting signatures but you want to skip the traditional paper trail, E-Sign is for you.
How E-Sign Solves Problems
We know that many of you need a trustworthy, compliant way to collect digital signatures. With E-Sign, you get the security, privacy, speed, and reliability you need, without lots of paperwork.
Let’s talk about Sarah, a consultant who spends a lot of her time sending contracts to clients. Before E-Sign, Sarah would have to deal with the hassle of chasing clients for signed documents, scanning, and emailing back & forth. But now, with this feature, all of that happens instantly. She gets a signed form the moment her client clicks submit—no delays, no chasing, and no hassle. Everything is securely saved in the cloud for her peace of mind.
This feature allows you to be confident that your forms are legally binding and securely stored, making your life just a little bit easier.
How To Make Your Forms E-Sign Compliant:
- Add the Signature Field: When creating your form, simply add the Signature Field and enable E-Sign.
- Go to Settings: In your Formplus account, navigate to the Settings page of your form and click on the Submission tab.
- Enable E-Sign: Look for the option to enable E-Sign and toggle it on. This ensures that the signature field on your form is now E-SIGN compliant.
- Consent Modal: Once E-Sign is enabled, your respondents will be prompted to provide their full name and email address for consent. They’ll also have the option to read through the legal terms before signing.
- Sit Back & Relax: After submission, you’ll receive a “copy of the signed form” and an “audit trail”, both securely stored in the cloud for easy access.
